The home appliance sector, now represented for the fourth time in Berlin, has become a regular component of IFA.

Its innovative lifestyle products are easy to use and provide enhanced wellness and health in the home. The new product generations are notable for their use of intelligent technology, while some are linked to the internet or offer smart grid solutions as well as having very simple controls.
Other features which are now taken for granted are outstanding design and their extremely efficient use of energy and water. The constantly reduced consumption of today’s home appliances has not been accompanied by any compromises in performance or ease of operation.
The world’s most important trade show for home appliances, IFA in Berlin, is presenting the entire range of innovations from every branch of the industry. This is the 5th highlights.
21. Cooling with the left – and the right
Open for everything: this applies to two high quality refrigerators which Sharp is exhibiting for the first time at IFA. Available either in silver or in black, the SJWS360T and SJ-WS320T both have Sharp’s own Dual Swing door system. Without requiring any further assembly work, they can be opened either to the left of the right.
Another impressive exhibit is the twin-door A++ Bottom-Freezer with its advanced technology that provides even cooling, a very hygienic refrigerated compartment and outstanding energy efficiency.

22. Emphasis on design
Russell Hobbs has expanded its food processor range with the addition of the “desire collection”. With an attractive combination of colours the “desire collection” offers distinctive styling with both matt and gloss elements and outstanding functionality. Bright red is used to accentuate the matt elements in fashionable black. The range comprises food processors, table top mixers, hand mixers, hand-held blenders and 3in-1 blenders.

23. Just a touch is all that is needed
“Steel touch” from Russell Hobbs is the world’s first breakfast set with a stainless steel touch control pad. All these products are simple to operate, dispensing with buttons and switches, and using a touch pad instead. In addition to its innovative and simple controls, the “steel touch” set also stands out due to its distinctive styling, inspired by the work of the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian.

24. Increased suction, reduced energy consumption
A powerful vacuum cleaner is needed for those weekend cleaning jobs or in the aftermath of a party. It is vital to be able to easily and thoroughly remove dust and dirt from carpets and upholstery. The new SC88L0, SC47J0 and SC61I0 Eco Wave vacuum cleaners from Samsung make light work of these jobs, and are extremely energy-efficient too.
Despite their powerful suction output of 320 watts they require up to 45 percent less electricity. This has been achieved by harmonizing the brushes, motor and suction output, thereby ensuring that these powerful little machines make an active contribution to protecting the environment.

25. Slim on the outside – spacious within
Savings are achieved not in terms of size but in energy consumption. Samsung’s latest fridge-freezers, the RL-60GQERS, RL-60GGERS and RL-56GRERS, satisfy consumer wishes in this respect. The clever layout of the components and the use of thin side walls that retain their highly effective insulating properties create a storage area with a capacity of up to 50 litres more than in other, comparable Samsung units.
Moreover the innovative Smart Eco system reduces electricity consumption. As a consequence, and in combination with the No-Frost system, the performance of the first models in the new G Series puts them in the A++ energy efficiency category, and the RL-60GQERS is even classified A+++.
