Due to the rapid pace of innovation the consumer electronics industry is constantly setting new standards. The merging of television with the internet, media and devices in HD and 3D, the massive upsurge in sales of tablet PCs, apps and smartphones, and networking for the home and for people on the move, with permanent access to their favourite media, are setting the trends in 2011.

The world’s most important trade show for consumer electronics, IFA in Berlin, is presenting the entire range of innovations from every branch of the industry. This is the 3rd introduction of product highlights.
11. An Oscar for Cinema 3D
LG is the first manufacturer to transfer proven cinema technology onto television screens in the home, with no loss of quality either. Saturday night is movie night with LG Cinema 3D Line-up. The polarization technology that it uses provides a flickerfree picture, as attested by TÜV and Intertek. Users will also appreciate the lightness of the polarization glasses which, without the need for any electronics, weigh just 16 grams.
Now friends and family can be invited to share 3D home cinema, with a perfect view guaranteed from all angles, and the polarization glasses do not require a signal to connect them to the television set. It is this polarization technology that provides the outstanding picture quality of the Cinema 3D Line-up. On these sets the 3D image is produced by means of a special foil, a system known as FPR (Film Patterned Retarder Type). The individual lines on the panel are specially processed, with each alternate line being polarized for the right and the left eye. The glasses have one other advantage too, requiring only one thin polarization filter.

12. 3D in a twin package: CINEMA 3D Monitor TV
It’s twice as good: the new CINEMA 3D monitor TV DM2350D from LG not only saves space, but also money, because this slimline unit combines all the advantages of 3D TV with those of a monitor. With its many different possibilities it is bound to be a success in any living room, no matter how small, offering 3D television, Blu-ray movies, games or office applications.
They can all be handled easily by the new and elegant 3D combination from LG. The DM2350D provides the perfect platform for 3D games and movies, because its unique CINEMA 3D technology enables viewers to
experience flicker-free, brilliant images in 3D just as they would in a cinema.

13. Notes and acoustic protocols on a digital stick
Livescribe, the developer of the award-winning Smartpen Pulse, is now presenting a new, computer-assisted data stick, the Smartpen Echo. In the form of an elegant pen, it enables written notes to be stored, which can then be combined with audio data recorded by the Echo via the built-in microphone. Following a discussion it is possible to listen to complex subject matter by simply tapping the keyword with the pen. The US company also supplies all users of the new Smartpen Echo, as well as buyers of the Pulse, with the latest version of Livescribe Desktop free of charge.
Available for downloading on Macs or PCs, this software can be used to store and sort all recordings, and boasts many new features too. As part of the continued development of its platform the company is also exhibiting a number of new functions such as Pencast PDF and applications for the iPad, iPhone and iTouch, which facilitate the sharing of notes and collaboration across so-called integration gaps.

14. Something that your ears have never seen
Loewe has revolutionized the audio market with its SoundVision audio system, which not only sets new standards in sound quality but also attracts attention with its exclusive, minimalist styling. The controls have been completely redesigned to make them even easier to use, either by means of the 7.5 inch multi touch display or with the Loewe Assist remote control. It is therefore a simple matter to select a music source, either from FM radio, internet radio, CD or iPod and iPhone.

Six built-in loudspeakers, including two integrated subwoofers, provide the very finest acoustic
experience. The Solist can be linked with the Loewe Home Entertainment System or with one’s own home network, either by LAN, WLAN or Powerline. With AUPEO! it is also possible to obtain recommendations for new tracks. The integrated music recognition service Gracenote can respond to queries about the title of a piece of music or the performer.

15. The individual mounting solution
This is a unique solution for mounting television sets, which can be elegantly leant against a wall, using the new, individual Loewe Wall Stand Flex. The height at which the sets can be mounted can be varied, and they can be tilted at angles of between zero and four degrees.
This ensures that there is a perfect view of the HDTV screen from any height. The Connect 32 and Connect 40 television sets from Loewe are real eyecatchers and highly desirable for their styling alone. They are just as impressive technologically too, with their numerous networking possibilities and multimedia
functions.
