Green Energy Expo – Key to growth to being international Exhibition as local

Most of exhibitions in Korea have less than 20% of overseas exhibitors, even for the big exhibitions that have over 1,000 booths. But Green Energy Expo-PV Korea in EXCO, settled global exhibition, has 40% of overseas exhibitors annually since 2004.

Green Energy Expo-PV Korea is the first PV & Renewable energy show in Korea and that’s the driving force of this result. EXCO and Korea Energy News(The organizers) were initiated a project to make international renewable energy, even when the word ‘Green Energy’ was unfamiliar.

EXCO(Daegu Exhibition and Convention Center) has strengthened overseas marketing and made request for cooperation to offshore establishment to get over the weakness as local exhibition. As a result, German Pavilion participates for 4 consecutive years and global top leaders are participating annually. Government’s support policy of renewable energy was also instrumental in bringing about the growth of Green Energy Expo.

Many of global leaders are participating in Green Energy Expo and lots of them are officially sponsored Green Energy Expo-PV Korea. It’s the unique distinction between Green Energy Expo and other exhibitions in Korea.

Green Energy Expo has Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hanwha Solarone, Millinet Solar, DuPont, Daesung Group, Jusung Engineering, Centrotherm, Trina Solar, Woongjin Energy, Shinsung Solar Energy, JES Solar, Mersen Solar as sponsor. And 80% of them participate for 3 consecutive years.

Mr Kwak, Director of DuPont said, “By participating in International Green Energy Expo, we expect to increase our brand awareness of DuPont materials in PV industry and also to help the industry achieve grid parity faster with new technology that we bring to the market.”
