[Preview PIS 2012] KATRI will have a chance to introduce its role of technical support and R&D efforts for the development of textile industries

Korea Apparel Testing & Research Institute (President , Hyunil Kim , www.katri.re.kr) is going to participate in ‘Preview in Seoul 2012′ which will be held at COEX , KOREA from 5th to September 7th, and have a chance to introduce its role of technical support and R&D efforts for the development of textile industries.

Korea Apparel Testing & Research Institute (KATRI hereafter) was established in 1964, and has been making efforts to improve the quality and reliability of textile products, pursuing constant progress as the best testing and analysis laboratory in this field.

Through continuous efforts, KATRI is supporting relevant businesses in the field of testing and evaluation, inspection, quality assurance, technical guidance and training for industrial products as well as textile or fashion products. Especially, it signed MoU(Memorandum of Understanding) with renowned testing and certification partners in the U.S., Japan, Europe, and China to help export-oriented enterprises break through technical barriers and be glocalized since 1990. KATRI also entered into Vietnam recently, following China and Gaesung, North Korea.

At this exhibition, KATRI is going to show assessment method of functionality for cold active or heat release properties materials which draws attention recently. It helps relevant businesses suggest visuals that highlight a distinction by temperature measurement of each part of the body using a thermal manikin and an artificial lighting heat release materials tester.

KATRI is expected to guide manufacturers, brands, and retailers through KC mark system (The Korean manufactured products safety management system) for their better understanding to ensure the safety of consumers.

KATRI plans to support relevant businesses closely through consultations on test items and correct request procedures.

Meanwhile, ‘The 13th Preview in Seoul’, one of the Korea’s largest exhibitions in fiber industry will be held by KOFOTI (Korea Federation of Textile) under four theme of ’TRANS NATURE’, ‘TRANS DIMENSION’,'TRANS SEDUCTION’ and ‘TRANS FUTURE’ with the concept of ‘Trans New’. 400 booths of 250 companies and 10,000 buyers are expected.
