This year’s key topics are as follows:

SMART LIVING

How easy will everyday life be in the future? IFA TecWatch displays innovative solutions – from gesture control to the networked home. A special highlight: together with ZVEI and VDE, ZVEH will present the E-Haus, a prototype for living in a completely networked environment.

NEXT IN 3D & HD

Displays capable of many times the resolution of current HDTV will be among the stars at IFA, production and distribution of media at this quality level is an exciting topic at IFA TecWatch. Exhibits at IFA TechWatch will also include advanced 3-D technology, such as new displays für viewing 3-D without glasses, or software that can automatically piece together image data from various angles to create an uninterrupted and navigable 3-D picture.

THE FUTURE OF BROADCASTING

Important sports and political events or big shows will continue to be watched at home via live TV broadcasts. But what about TV series repeats? In future, the convergence of digital broadcasting with the internet will offer much more efficient methods. Dynamic Broadcasting is the key. TechWatch gets behind the facts.

SECOND SCREEN

Tablet PCs on one’s lap are becoming an indispensable tool with large TV screens. IFA TecWatch shows the most sophisticated apps for this combination, with which viewers can easily navigate the entire universe of digital media.

WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY

Minuscule, featherweight screens, sensors and intelligent electronics as part of what you wear have been fascinating the world for years with the first prototypes. Now the time has come for genuine, consumer-friendly wearable technology. IFA TecWatch will be showing some spectacular examples.

On top of all these topics visitors to IFA TecWatch will be able to experience a quality range of fascinating papers at the show.
