[Paperworld 2013] With a new look and maximum impact
2:17 pm am July 25, 2012Multi-faceted complementary programme with value added for visitors and exhibitors
Paperworld 2013 is already taking shape: the leading international trade fair for paper, stationery and office supplies is more than just an order and communication platform, it is a source of inspiration. Hence, a few months ago, we asked Paperworld exhibitors about the inspiration they glean from the fair. ‘My Inspiration’ was the slogan of a campaign that resulted in lots of interesting sketches and pictures that formed the basis for the new Paperworld key visual. The leading international trade fair will be distinguished externally by a new look from now on. But that’s not all: Paperworld has also developed ‘internally’ and been given a new design. Thanks to an improved hall structure, numerous product groups will be rearranged and future-oriented impulses generated. “The hall restructuring offers both exhibitors and visitors numerous advantages. Thanks to the new arrangement, the product groups harmonise even better with each other. Moreover, the exhibition space occupied remains unchanged so that Paperworld is and remains the biggest international trade fair for the sector”, says Paperworld Director Michael Reichhold.
International paper, stationery and office supplies world at Paperworld
The sector’s key players, including Brunnen, Durable, Edding, Faber-Castell, Schneider/Novus/Dahle and Uhu, not to mention numerous smaller companies, will present the international spectrum of paper, stationery and office supplies in ten exhibition halls. Important companies making a comeback at the fair in 2013 include Staedtler and Tesa. According to spokesman Reinhart Martin, the reason for his company’s return to Paperworld is that they can present, “The complete product spectrum and all segments covered by the Tesa brand.” Moreover, adds Martin, “With the continued development of our particularly environmentally friendly ecoLogo range, we also want to spotlight sustainability in 2013. Naturally, design also has an important role to play for the new Tesa products”.
In addition to the presentation of new products, exhibitors attach great importance to making new business contacts and communicating with customers. Additionally, popular trends give retailers a host of ideas for putting together the perfect assortment. At special exhibitions, award ceremonies and informative lectures, they also have the chance to expand their horizons and discover new products.

Well-known exhibitors, a unique complementary programme and new halls: a successful combination for Paperworld 2013
Internationality is a major strength of Paperworld – only in Frankfurt am Main do so many nations and exhibitors of the paper, stationery and office supplies sector meet at the beginning of the year. The concept is once again set to be a success in 2013 and will be given a supplementary boost by the new product-group arrangement.” We expect to welcome about 1,800 international exhibitors and all exhibition halls will be distinguished by varied and unparalleled highlights”, says Reichhold.
Next year, the complete Hall 3 will be the centre for office supplies. Renowned exhibitors such as Brunnen, Casio, Durable, Edding,
Exacompta-Clairefontaine, Hama, Maped & Helit, Novus Gruppe, Olympia, Sigel, Tesa, Tombow, Trodat and Uhu will present their latest products inHall 3.0. In addition to the presentation of new products, Per Ledermann, Member of the Board of Edding Int. GmbH, sees another important reason for taking part in the fair: “In contrast to appointments with our customers, which are frequently characterised by insufficient time, the fair gives us the chance to act as hosts to our dealers, to bring our product worlds to life and to discuss them with our customers.”
The Paperworld Forum is also to be found in Hall 3.0. There, speakers will discuss a variety of interesting topics and participants have the chance to make new contacts. The office-supplies segment occupies both Hall 3.0 and Hall 3.1 where the exhibitors include companies from the Remanexpo segment such as Ninestar and Static Control with remanufactured printer accessories. Despec Supplies, Pelikan Hardcopy, Soporcel and Stora Enso will be showing IT and printer accessories and paper.
In 2013, writing and drawing utensils will be located in Hall 4.0: Caran d’Ache, Faber-Castell, Koh-I-Noor, Lyra-Bleistift-Fabrik, Online Schreibgeräte, Schmidt Technology and Staedtler are only a few of the many high-grade exhibitors to be found in this product segment. For Axel Marx, Member of the Board of Staedtler Mars GmbH & Co. KG, internationality is the key factor for the company’s return to Paperworld in 2013: “We have registered for the coming Paperworld because it continues to be the leading European trade fair for our sector. We hope to find an international audience of trade visitors and look forward to welcoming our key accounts to our exhibition stand.”
Hall 5.0 is reserved for school articles and the exhibitors include both licensing companies and own brands such as New Edition, Stationery Team, Ergobag and Undercover GmbH. The move to Hall 5.0 means that school and training articles will enjoy greater independence and thus attract even greater attention. Hence, they can expand to fill a complete exhibition hall. Additionally, the close proximity to gift articles and albums in Hall 5.1 will generate positive synergistic effects. In the greetings-cards segment, exhibitors such as Albert Horn, Avancarte, BSB-Obpacher, Depesche Vertieb, Grafik Werkstatt Bielefeld and Hanra will present their trends and highlights for the coming season. For Matthias Hanfstingl, CEO of Hanra, Paperworld 2013 is an unrivalled platform for the gift-article sector: “We regard Paperworld as an important meeting place for the exchange of information about new developments for presenting greetings cards at the POS. Moreover, Paperworld is a great impulse generator for new imagery and colour trends in the world of greetings cards.”
The way from Hall 5.1 to Hall 6.1 is well worth taking because, in the foyer between the two halls, visitors will find an exhibition for the design competition for greetings cards. The competition is open to students and trainees of the creative sector who are invited to submit their designs for greetings cards. The award will be presented for the 10th time in 2013.
In Hall 6.0, Francesco Brizzolari, Paper&Design and Star Pennsylvania will be showing their new collections for (gift) packaging materials, napkins and gift-wrapping paper.
Hall 6.1 is distinguished not only by exclusive paper products and exhibitors such as Artoz, Giorgio Fedon, Goldbuch, Miquel Rius and Rössler Papier, but also by three special exhibitions. The Paperworld Trend Show presents the trends for the coming season together with matching products from the field of paper, stationery and office supplies. The presentation will be rounded off by background information given within the framework of lectures and guided tours.
Although the non-book segment is currently a front-runner in the book trade, it is not always easy to find the perfect combination of books and paper, stationery and office supplies. In Hall 6.1, a special exhibition aimed at book dealers will show how to achieve this and attract attention to the supplementary range of products.
New products is also the theme of the third exhibition, a promotional area for young companies that have the chance to present themselves and their products at an international trade fair.
The three floors of Hall 10 are reserved for Asian exhibitors. They include well-known companies, such as Hindustan Pencils Pvt. Ltd., Cello International Pvt. and National Pen & Plastic Industries from India, Aihao Pen trade Co. Ltd. from China and Essem International Co. Ltd. from Thailand. For the first time, the important organising company, Capexil, which acts on behalf of the Government of India, has registered two stands, thus underscoring the sixty-year old trade and business relationship between India and Germany.
In the Asia High Quality Selection in Hall 10.0, visitors will also find the Asia Design Excellence special show with the latest design trends from Asia.
