[KOREA PHARM 2012 on-site] Korea Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, ‘Pharmaceutical discussed ‘PIC/S’ in the ‘Meeting of factory chiefs of domestic pharmaceutical companies’.

Korea Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (www.kpma.or.kr) participated in 2nd International Pharmaceutical Products Exhibition in 2012 (KOREA PHARM 2012) from May 22(Tue) to 18(Fri) in Kintex, Goyang hosted “Meeting of factory chiefs of domestic pharmaceutical companies’ today (23rd).
In the meeting of Korea Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and Korea Food and Drug Administration, Department of drug quality control, various discussions were made according to individual issues of introduction and the necessity of participation in PIC/S (Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention) and current situations and operations of foreign countries etc.
PIC (Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention) is composed with 18 European countries (EFTA) with the objective of inspection and mutual certification of medical products and PIC/S is an international organization which was established in 1995 in order to achieve the harmony of medical products manufacturing, quality control standards (GMP) and inspection and qualitative system improvements.
Meanwhile, KOREA PACK 2012 (International Packaging Exhibition), KOREA MAT (Materials Handling & Logistics Exhibition), COPHEX 2012 (Cosmetic & Pharmaceutical Industry), KOREA PHARM 2012 (Pharmaceutical Ingredient Exhibition), KOREA CHEM 2012 (Chemical Plant Equipment & Processing), KOREA LAB 2012 (Laboratory & Analytical Equipment), and KOBEX 2012 (Bio & Environmental Equipment) will take place together, so people can meet varied industry fields at one spot.
In particular, KOREA PACK is selceted as a repreentative exhibiton of Gyeonggi-do, so they will be supported by Government and will be promoted as an International exhibition. Aso they will contribute to region economic development and cemployment creation by drawing lots of packaging related attention to Gyeonggi-do.
